Warm, thoughtful psychotherapy for anxiety, relationships, life transitions, grief and patterns that keep us stuckAreas of Focus
Anxiety& Depression
When worry, self-doubt, insecurity, sadness, or emotional exhaustion begin to narrow your life, therapy can help you understand what's happening and find ways forward.
Getting Unstuck
Many people come to therapy because they feel caught in patterns they can't seem to change. Together, we'll explore what keeps those patterns in place and how change becomes possible.
Relationships & Connections
Connection with others is central to mental health. People need to feel seen, heard, significant and loved. Therapy will help you build better, more satisfying and more authentic connections.
Finding Purpose
Questions about meaning, ambition, identity, and direction can arise at any stage of life. Therapy provides a space to clarify what matters most and how you want to move toward it.
Eddie Rosenstein, LMSW
People usually come to therapy because they feel stuck. Things just aren’t working.
Sometimes it's anxiety or depression. Sometimes it's relationships which keep following familiar patterns. Sometimes it's a career that no longer feels meaningful. Or a sense that despite their best efforts, you keep arriving at the same place.
My role is to help you better understand how those patterns developed, what purpose they serve, and help you rewrite your story.
I earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Hunter College in New York. Since then I have provided thousands of hours of psychotherapy both in person and via telehealth. My training includes Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and narrative approaches.
Therapy is also about understanding people. Before becoming a therapist, I spent decades as a documentary filmmaker, earning people's trust during some of the most consequential moments of their lives. I've taught graduate students, built and led companies, served on nonprofit boards and coached youth sports. Most importantly, I've spent years navigating life as a son, husband, and father.
Training and experience has, together, given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of people's lives: the ways we protect ourselves, the stories we tell ourselves, the desires that motivate us, and the patterns that shape decisions and relationships.
Together, lets explore what's happening in your life, and why. Let’s see what’s possible when you begin to understand and imagine things differently.
That’s the point, right?

“Therapy is not simply about feeling better. It's about understanding yourself more clearly, identifying patterns that keep you stuck, and developing new ways of responding to challenges.”
MY APPROACH
-
Many people know what they should do but struggle to do it. Therapy helps us understand the forces that keep old patterns in place, and create room for something different.
-
We all develop ways of protecting ourselves from disappointment, uncertainty, shame, and vulnerability. These strategies usually make sense when they begin. Over time, however, they can become limiting. Therapy helps us understand and decide whether those patterns still serve us.
-
The way we relate to others is often shaped by both conscious and and subconscious experiences. In therapy, we explore how these entered into your life, how they are effecting intimacy, conflict, trust, communication, and connection and how you can change things for the better
-
Therapy involves examining the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what we're capable of, and what our lives mean—and asking whether those stories are still accurate.
-
I’m trained modalites including Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Therapies.
These are each important tools. The craft is understanding human beings and helping them get where they want to go. -
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Meeting consistently gives us the opportunity to develop momentum, better understand of recurring patterns, and make meaningful progress. Depending on your goals and circumstances and progress, meeting less frequently may make sense.
-
Insurances I currently accept are: Meritain Health, Aetna, Optum, Oscar Health, Oxford and UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH. For out of network clients, the per session fee is $150 for individuals and $175 for couples. Sessions are 55 minutes.
-
Some people come to therapy to address a specific challenge over a period of months. Others choose longer-term work focused on understanding themselves more deeply and making larger, lasting changes. Together, we'll regularly discuss your goals, progress and plan.
